Icing on the cake for 1NZ

Sharon and Les recently attended the Manawatu Speedway Club 2024 Prizegiving, a fun night where people come together to celebrate the season, recognise, and applaud the achievements of the drivers and for those who provide services to the club.

Some of the Awards presented by the Club include Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Driver, Best Presented Car, and Driver of the Year across seven different categories. It was a great night with the biggest awards of the evening, Warrior of the Oval, and Sportsperson of the year, deservedly went to 1NZ Kyle Rowe.

This recognition puts the icing on the cake to what has been a brilliant 2023-2024 racing season for Kyle, ending in a spectacular fashion on the closing night when he took out the Manawatu Champs to add to his King Of The Arena title that he won the week previous.

Kyle also received the Awards for Stockcar Driver of the year and Stockcar Top Points. Kyle is currently spending the off-season in America, working as part of a crop harvesting crew. Proud Dad, Alistair, gladly stepped in and accepted the awards on Kyle’s behalf.

The audience was treated to a video of the call made to Kyle advising him of the awards he had won. Kyle was very gracious and humble in his acceptance.
